Perennial herb with one or more simple stems arising from a tuberous rootstock; latex white. Leaves simple, opposite with lateral veins spreading almost at right angles to the midrib. Inflorescences umbelliform with erect peduncles. Corolla lobed almost to the base. Paired follicles sometimes inflated. Seeds flattened, ovate with silky hairs. Malawi: 5 taxa. |
