Erect perennial herb with annual stems, up to 1.35 m tall. Milky latex present. Leaves opposite, linear 4-13 cm long, with short appressed hairs above, hairless beneath except for appressed pubescence on the midrib. Flowers in 2-many-flowered clusters at the nodes. Calyx hairy. Corolla lobes up to 4.5 mm long more or less linear-elliptic, cream to greenish-brown, shortly hairy throughout and with very long, conspicuous white hairs up to 2 mm long. Corona 1-3 mm high, white to pale yellow or greenish, often spotted violet-brown. Follicles rarely developed,narrowly fusiform with a long beak, 5-7 cm long, densely softly hairy. |
