Description:
Medium-sized tree resembling G. semseii Verdc. which is only found from Nguru and Uluguru Mts in Tanzania. It appears to replace G. kingaensis in Central Malawi but differs in having broader leaves, copious orange latex and ovoid fruit c. 3 cm long. It also appears to fruit less often than G. kingaensis. Flowers still unknown.
Notes: Published but as yet unnamed by Dowsett-Lemaire & White in Bull. Jard. Bot. Belg. 60: 78 (1990) and Evergreen Forest Flora of Malawi: 283 (2001).

Habitat: In understorey of mid-altitude and montane evergreen forest.
Altitude range: 1350 - 1640 m

Worldwide distribution: Only known from Chipata Mountain and Ntchisi Mountain in Central Malawi.
