Description: |
Perennial herb up to 60 cm high, growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves subsessile, narrowly oblong-elliptic or sometimes ovate, 8.5-16 cm long, somewhat leathery, hairless when mature. Inflorescences dense terminal, cylindrical or capitate heads, 3.5-9.5 cm long; bracts ovate, elliptic to somewhat obovate, 15-33 mm long with margi long-ciliate with swollen based hairs. Flowers subsessile, white, mauve or blue, pubescent outside. |
