Description: |
Shrub or small tree; young branches pubescent; bark greyish. Leaves mostly restricted to young, green branches ovate or sometimes elliptic to round, 1.3–3 cm long, thinly textured to slightly leathery, shiny and hairless above, more or less pubescent on midrib beneath; lateral nerves in 3–4 main pairs, impressed above; domatia present; petioles up to 2 mm long; stipules triangular-acuminate, 3–4 mm long, keeled when mature. Flowers 4-merous, in 10–70-flowered, compact, heads on pubescent peduncles 3–15 mm long; pedicels 2–13 mm long, pubescent. Calyx tube 1 mm long, broader than long, hairless or with a few hairs towards the base; limb 0.5–0.75 mm long, irregularly dentate. Corolla greenish-cream; tube 1.5–2 mm long, pubescent at throat; lobes oblong, 2.5–3 mm long. Fruit broadly oblong in outline, 7 × 7 × 4 mm, black when mature. |
