Perennial; rhizome covered by small red-brown cataphylls; stem 11-55 cm tall, obscurely triangular. Inflorescence a spherical head of confluent spikes. Spikelet bracts dark purple to violet, forming a dark centre to the inflorescence, with long white (cream) apices. |
