Description:	Slender, laxly branched annual herb, 20-70 cm tall. Leaves linear to filiform, 10-45 mm long, only slightly narrowed at the base, mostly hairless but sparsely papillose on the lower midrib. Inflorescence lax, extensive. Flowers distinctly pedicellate, 2 at each node, red to pale violet or whitish, paler beneath; tube and back of the corolla lobes sometimes papillose. Capsules subglobose, 2.7-3.8 mm long, more or less hairless.
