Description: |
Robust tufted perennial 2-3 m high with fan-shaped, overlapping basal sheaths. Leaves up to 15 mm wide. Inflorescence lanceolate in outline, 20–30 cm long, , with stiffly spreading or ascending raceme-like primary branches up to 3 cm long and numerous rigid almost prickly bristles 10–25 mm long. Spikelets narrowly ovate, 3.5–4 mm long. |
