Description: |
Much-branched tree or shrub, up to 7.5 m tall. Bark greyish-brown, irregularly fissured; younger branches narrowly 4-winged. Leaves opposite, elliptic to obovate, 1.5-4.5 cm long, leathery, somewhat discolorous, green above, more yellowish beneath, single veined from the base with midrib impressed above, prominent beneath; margin entire; petiole c. 2 mm long. Inflorescences c. 12-flowered, in clusters on older leafless axils. Flowers with a creamy-white, cupshaped receptacle; petals 4, white, triangular, c. 3.5 × 2.5 mm, keeled; stamens with filaments c. 5.5 mm long; anthers purple, with a minute dorsal gland. Fruit ellipsoid, purple-blue when ripe. |
