Description: |
Perennial herb, growing from corms. Stem erect, unbranched, compressed and 2-winged. Leaves 3-5, lower 2-3, lanceolate, plicate, about as long as the stem; upper leaves shorter and largely sheathing. Inflorescence a 1-4(6)-flowered spike; bracts usually 4-6 cm long, sometimes longer, green; inner bracts shorter than outer. Flowers white, opening at night, without a scent; perianth tube 8-12.5 cm long, more or less cylindric; tepals 4-5 cm long; lanceolate, the uppermost tepal sometimes larger and somewhat hooded. |
