Description: |
Erect annual stems, up to 60 cm, arising from a perennial rootstock. Leaves linear with spinescent bristles along the margins and at the apex. Capitula terminal, solitary, 4-6cm in diameter, yellow. Involucral bracts numerous and bristly. |

Habitat: | It is mainly found in Brachystegia woodland but also in montane grassland, particularly on granite and dolerite. |
