Description:
Slender erect, annual herb up to 1 m tall but usually smaller, more or less pubescent and sometimes blueish-green. Leaves sessile, spathulate or oblanceolate, 1-8.5 cm long, pale green, sometimes purplish or blue-green beneath; margin more or less coarsely sinuate-dentate. Capitula 1-12 in a lax to dense terminal head; involucre 4-6.5 mm long, hairless, green. Ray florets, 4-8, yellow, 1.5-2.5 mm long, 4-veined. Disc florets yellow to orange, 3-4 mm long. Achenes 1-2.5 mm long, shortly hairy; pappus 3-4 mm long.
Notes: Poisonous to livestock.

Habitat: In sandy Brachystegia woodland

Worldwide distribution: Nigeria, Cameroon, CAR, DRC, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
