Description: |
Perennial herb or small shrub, up to 1.2 m high; stems greyish hairy and glandular. Leaves sessile, linear to lanceolate, densely white woolly beneath, thinly so and glandular above when young; margin rolled under. Capitula solitary or few together, all together forming extensive terminal heads. Involucre green with dark tips. Ray florets mauve pink or purple; disc florets golden yellow. |
Notes: | This variety differs from var. rosmarinifolia by the much larger leaves. |
Derivation of specific name: | rosmarinifolia: leaves like the herb rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis); foliosa: leafy, referring to the much larger leaves in this variety. |
