Description:
Erect perennial herb. Stems one to several, up to 50 cm. Leaves along the stem, lanceolate, 3-5-veined from the base; margin somewhat ridged, minutely serrulate. Flower heads mostly solitary, terminal on long peduncles. Ray-florets white to violet-blue, 3-dentate at the apex. Disk-florets yellow.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: harveyanus: after William Henry Harvey (1811-1866), Irish botanist, and botanical pioneer. He co-authored the first three volumes of Flora Capensis.
nyikensis: of the Nyika Plateau in Malawi and Zambia.
Habitat: In montane grassland.

Worldwide distribution: (this subspecies) Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Other subspecies are found in Eswatini and South Africa.
