Description:
Erect or ascending perennial herb, rooting at the nodes. Stems fleshy, hollow, mostly hairless. Leaves subsessile, ovate to lanceolate; margins variously subentire to serrate-dentate. Inflorescence a loose terminal cyme. Capitula 6-10 mm in diameter. Corolla white with a conspicuous style.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: caffrum: from Kaffraria, a historic name for South Africa
Habitat: In wet and swampy areas, particularly in disturbed places.
