Description: |
Subshrub with erect shoots (2)5-30 cm tall growing from ± horizontal underground stems; stems shortly densely pubescent, glabrescent or glabrous, older stems longitundinally ridged; leaf blades 2-14 x 0.5-5.8 cm, narrowly elliptic to elliptic or sometimes ovate to obovate or oblanceolate, usually markedly discolorous with the underside pale or quite whitish, petiole 0.1-1 cm; stipules prominently bilobed with base 2.5-5 mm long and lobes 1.5-4 mm long; flowers 5-merous, in few to many flowered condensed subumbelliform cymes 1-1.5 cm in diameter; peduncle 0.5-6.5 cm long, pedicles 1-5(7) mm long; calyx 1 mm long with unequal short subtriangular to ovate lobes up to 0.3 mm long; corolla white, glabrous outside, tube (2.5)3-5 x c. 1 mm, oblong-lanceolate; drupes green turning yellow, orange and finally bright red with 2 subgloboes pyrenes 5-6 mm in diameter; seeds dark red, 3.5 x 3.5 x 2 mm, semi-ellipsoid or semi-globose. |
