Description:	See var. caespitosa for general details. This variety differs in the inflorescences mostly being 2-6-flowered and leaves being elliptic, up to 7 mm wide.

Habitat:	In grassland and woodland or along flooded shores of lakes, streams and vleis, often on bare sandy or laterite soils, sometimes weedy.
