Description:	Shrubby perennial herb up to 2 m but usually much less, occurring in the understorey of evergreen forest. Leaves opposite, thinly textured, dark green, elliptic, base tapering into the petiole; margin entire. Flowers in terminal spike-like inflorescences. Corolla 2-lipped with a long narrow tube, white or pale mauve.
