Description: |
Annual, prostrate herb, with trailing or ascending stems, branching from or near base, often rooting at nodes, more or less densely covered with long, white hairs. Leaves opposite, broadly ovate to ovate-elliptic, 15–45 mm long, usually shallowly cordate at the base; margin shallowly to coarsely crenate-serrate; petiole 4–20 mm long. Inflorescences in 2–7-flowered axillary racemes, 1–7.5 cm. long; bracts linear-oblong, obtuse, 3–4 mm. long; pedicels (2)6–10(15) mm long, slender. Calyx 3.5–4.75 mm long; lobes oblong to spatulate-oblong, 1–2 mm long, long-ciliate. Corolla blue, 6–7 mm long, upper lobe to 4 mm wide, broadly ovate to subcircular. Capsule obcordate in outline, compressed, c. 3.5–4 mm long and wide, with long curly hairs or only ciliate on the suture. |
