Description: |
Erect perennial, up to 1 m high, growing from a small tuber. Leaves in whorls of three, sessile, elliptic, 2.5-6.5 cm long, sparsely pubescent and with scattered gland dots; margin toothed. Leafy stems usually with axillary whorls of bulbils, 7-15 mm long, covered in short hairs and longer, swollen-based hooked hairs. Plants leafless when flowering. Inflorescences in opposite branches or sometimes in threes; flowers in 1-6-flowered verticels set 1-2 cm apart. Corolla purple or pale blue, 14-20 mm long. |
