Description: |
Soft-wooded shrub, up to 3.5 m. Leaves opposite, ovate to elliptic, 8-20 cm long, thinly textured, hairy or velvety, particularly below, apex narrowing into a drip tip; margin shallowly serrate. Flowers in short axillary racemes, usually on the nodes below the new leaves, up to 2 cm long, bright deep, hairy. Fruit consisting of 4 nutlets, hidden by the persistent calyx. |
