Description: |
Large evergreen tree, up to 50 m tall with a fluted and buttressed trunk; slash pale pinkish-brown with lighter striations. Leaves not confined to branch ends, obovate-elliptic to narrowly oblong-obovate, leathery to thinly textured, glossy bright green and hairless above with veins in 15-20 pairs, impressed above, veins prominent and rusty haisy beneath; surface minutely pellucid-punctate; petiole 1.5-2 cm long. Flowers in axillary clusters on densely velvety pedicels up to 1 cm long; corolla up to 9 mm long with a long tube and short rounded lobes, pale yellowish. Fruit narrowly ellipsoid, up to 4 cm long, beaked, finely velvety. |
