Description: |
Liane or scandent shrub, forming thickets or climbing into large trees. Thorns not paired but scattered along the stems, small and slightly curved. The leaves are large, up to 20 cm × 8 cm, with 8 to 15 pairs of pinnae and a distinct gland just above the base of the petiole. The main rhachis often has thorn on the underside. Inflorescences terminal or axillary in panicles of white spherical flowers. The pods are large (up to 20 cm) and leathery, transversely marked and sometimes constricted between the seeds. |
