Climbing herbs. Stipules and stipels present. Leaves pinnately 3-foliolate. Inflorescences axillary, racemose, several-many-flowered. Calyx: tube cylindric, ± swollen at base at the back, the mouth obliquely truncate; lobes ± 0. Corolla small; standard auriculate, glabrous; all petals with long claws. Upper stamen free; anthers uniform. Style hairy at base, bent and thickened at the bend. Pod linear, flattened. Seeds subspherical; aril not developed. Worldwide: 9 species in the Old World tropics; 1 occurring in Africa Malawi: 1 taxon. |
