Inflorescence of 1–several digitate racemes; racemes fragile, villous, with linear internodes. Spikelets alike, paired, one sessile, one pedicelled, terete, the callus acutely conical to pungent and obliquely attached to the internode. Inferior glume coriaceous, convex, obtuse at the apex. Inferior floret reduced to a hyaline lemma. Superior lemma linear, bidentate, with a puberulous or hirtellous awn. Worldwide: Five species in Central Africa. Malawi: 1 taxon. |
