Small, prostrate perennial herbs. Leaves circular or reniform, cordate, petiolate. Flowers solitary, axillary; bracteoles 2, subulate. Sepals subequal, 5, ovate-spathulate, ± free. Corolla widely campanulate, deeply 5-lobed, hirsute outside. Stamens 5. Ovary deeply 2-lobed. Styles 2. Capsule 2-lobed; lobes indehiscent or irregularly 2-valved. Seeds subspherical, smooth. Worldwide: 9 species in tropical and warm areas. Malawi: 1 taxon. |
