Erect or decumbent herbs. Leaves (in ours) with long petioles, ternate to palmate. Inflorescence of irregular compound umbels with few, unequal rays. Partial umbels composed of bisexual and male flowers. Fruit ovoid, with hooked spines. Worldwide: 39 species, ± cosmopolitan. Malawi: 1 taxon. |
