Description: |
Procumbent or sometimes scandent perennial. Stems 60-90 cm long, angular, fleshy, hollow, sometimes woody at the base, rooting at the nodes; branches ascending, bristly hairy, particularly on the nodes. Leaves opposite, narrowly to broadly ovate-elliptic, up to 6 × 3 cm, 3-5-veined from the base, dull green above, pale green or whitish below, bristly hairy on both surfaces. Flowers solitary or in few-flowered clusters, pale mauve to deep purple. Stamens very unequal with pedoconnectives up to 7 mm long, 2-lobed at the base. Fruit ovoid-ellipsoid, up to 11 × 7.5 mm, bristly. |
