Description:
|
Completely hairless small tree with pale grey, smooth bark, often somewhat papery and peeling purplish-brown. Milky sap present. Leaves 3-5-lobed or rarely simple, 10-28 cm wide, more or less cordate at the base, dark bluish-green above,paler beneath; net-veining transparant against the light; petiole 7-13.5 cm long. Iflorescence branched, 2-15 cm long. Flowers unisexual with male and female flowers in the same inflorescence, greenish-white and mauve-tinged or pale yellow with reddish markings. Fruit globose, c. 2 cm in diameter, smooth but becoming tuberculate on drying. |
