Corolla tube curved, the limb ± 2-lipped with 5 rounded subequal lobes; disk thick and cushion-like. Ovary 2-locular. Stamens 4; staminode 1. Fruit a ± circular capsule. Seeds winged. Derivation of name: after a native Brazilian name for a species of this genus Worldwide: 34 species from tropical America Malawi: 1 cultivated taxon. |
