Description:
Compact shrub or small, slender tree; branches sub-quadrangular. Leaves elliptic to broadly elliptic-ovate, 20–35 mm long, leathery, more or less clearly glandular-punctate beneath; margin remotely toothed and slightly revolute; petiole 3–6 mm long. Flowers axillary among the leaves, 1-several together on slender pedicels, 6–12 mm long, with a pair of bracteoles below middle. Corolla orange to deep or brownish-red, 18–25 mm long; tube straight at base, widening above to 7–9 mm, minutely glandular-pubescent below; lobes 4, c. 1–1.5 mm long, densely, short glandular-pubescent on the margins. Style up to c. 18 mm long, exserted. Fruit a globose or subglobose berry, 8–9 mm in diameter.

Habitat: Forest margins, often among rocks.
